This website provides information for people who want to learn Dutch in Bangkok or in Pattaya, Thailand or for those who want to prepare themselves for the Civic Integration examination Abroad.

In case you don’t have time to participate in the 6-week course, we offer private and group courses during the week and the weekend. During this course, we focus on the “civic integration exam abroad” (inburgeringsexamen buitenland).

We also offer private and group courses “Dutch for beginners”, both during the week and the weekend. In this course the focus is on learning the Dutch language.

At the NLB Language School (a trading name of NLB Co. Ltd., a company operating under Thai law) Dutch is taught, students are actively (verbally) engaged in the lessons by our qualified Dutch teacher.

Consequently, computers are not used during the lessons, as the NLB Language School believes that this often passive way of teaching Dutch, produces lower results than the (inter-)active method it offers.

Our Dutch teacher, Richard van der Kieft is Dutch and is a native speaker. He has been teaching for 19 years Dutch in Thailand. He prepares candidates for the Civic Integration Examination Abroad, using specialised language materials, some of which are in Thai.

Our school is located next to the K.S. Residence in Sukhumvit soi 54, right next to the On Nut BTS. There are many apartments near our school.

Why you should start with your Civic Integration Course right now?

As of Wednesday 15 March 2006, all migrants entering Holland from Thailand, must have a certain knowledge of Dutch language and of Dutch society, in order to settle in Holland.

All Thai migrants aged 18 to 65 years old (for family reunification or family formation is the minimum age 21 years old) have to take the Civic Integration Examination Abroad, in order to obtain an Authorization for Temporary Stay (MVV) at the Dutch embassy in Bangkok.

Mijn vriendin, Kai Chanyarom, heeft vorige maand de Nederlandse nationaliteit aangenomen. Tijdens de naturalisatieprocedure moest ik weer denken aan hoe het allemaal begon: met jouw Nederlandse lessen in Bangkok. Kai vertelde laatst nog dat ze mooie herinneringen heeft aan die tijd. Bijna niemand houdt ervan om naar school te gaan, maar zij ging altijd met plezier naar Nederlandse les. Het mooie was dat jij haar niet alleen Nederlands leerde, maar ook leerde hoe je multiple choice vragen goed kunt beantwoorden.

Achteraf is het eigenlijk allemaal van een leien dakje gegaan, maar zonder jouw Nederlandse les was dat niet mogelijk geweest. En dat Kai nog steeds klasgenoten uit die tijd spreekt, bewijst dat het indertijd niet alleen leerzaam was, maar ook erg gezellig. Ik wens alle mannen en vrouwen die na Kai dezelfde weg willen afleggen veel succes, te beginnen met Nederlandse les.

Mijn Thaise partner Nattha heeft bijna Cum Laude met goed succes de basis-inburgeringscursus afgerond. Dat is niet in de laatste plaats te danken aan de begeleiding en manier van lesgeven van Richard. Namens Meaw en mij wil ik je bedanken voor voortreffelijke lessen waardoor Meaw met vlag en wimpel geslaagd is voor haar basisexamen inburgering. Richard is een betrokken ervaren leraar die naast kennisoverdracht ook aandacht voor juiste sfeer zodat leren ook leuk wordt.

We waren beide op zoek naar leraar waar daadwerkelijk lesgeeft en niet naar begeleiding bij het volgen van een cursus via de computer. Door het klassikaal lesgeven ontstaat er een groepsgevoel waardoor vriendschappen ontstaan en er veel samen geoefend kan worden.
